Dan Duffy's thoughts on RRTV 2010...

Message from RRTV Student, Dan Duffy...

I am going to be telling you about my experience of going to SPNN's Summer Reel Reality TV class. This is a class that helps get kids credits for high school. In this class you are paired up with a couple other kids and you make a documentary. It is up to the class to choose the topics for the documentaries. My group was then given several days to research facts and opinions on our topics, we also searched for people that we could go out and interview on our topic. Once we had a good idea about our topic we took to the streets to ask people about their opinions on our subject and we received views from all over the spectrum.
Once our group had several interviews and B-roll shots compiled we imported it all onto the computer. As soon as we had all our footage we started assembling our documentary. We continued to polish our documentary until it is perfect and ready to be screened in SPNN's main studio.
I have learned a lot about how to create a documentary from the ground up. This class is 2 credits and is all i need to graduate, I am very grateful that this class is around.
